Thinking about Sweaters

In the fall/winter season, a nice selection of sweaters really adds style and utility to your wardrobe.  We all wear sport jackets less often than we used to, so a sweater helps complete an outfit and makes you feel a little more dressed than when you’re simply wearing pants and a shirt.  It also acts as a layering piece that you can put on and take off depending on the temperature during the course of the day or when you’re spending time both inside and out.  Finally, there’s nothing to compare to the look and feel of fine lambswool and cashmere.  The touch and warmth along with the rich, heathered color tones set these materials apart from everything else.  There is a tremendous variety of beautiful sweaters available today.  From fine gauge, lightweight worsted Merino sweaters, heavier rustic tweed sweater jackets along with mid-weight styles in soft, carded lambswool yarns as well as blends of cashmere and even Yak.  V-necks and crew necks are as timeless as ever, but the pullover zip mock is tremendously useful and falls into the sport-luxe category if it’s made of something a bit special.  This style is sort of the gentleman’s sweatshirt and they have been extremely popular for a long time now.  A button mock serves the same purpose, but gives a slightly dressier look.  Button and zip mocks get even closer to a jacket and are ideal for the onset of brisk late fall weather.  They can be heavier tweeds for a rustic look or clean firmly knit zip track jacket styles for a more modern look.  You’ll look better and be more comfortable if you pick the perfect sweater for the occasion.
