The Perfect Summer Pant Color

Posted on 28. Jun, 2014 by in Uncategorized

As much as I like to wear khakis and jeans in the summertime, I have one particular color that I like best for pants and shorts.  Are you sitting down?  Beige.  That might not sound too revolutionary, but it has to be the right shade of beige.  It can’t be dull oyster or light cement color.  It’s not as yellow as chamois, but it leans slightly in that direction.  It’s a lighter and warmer color than khaki and colorful summer shirts look better with it than anything else.  You’ll look almost aristocratic if you wear them with a blue and white Bengal striped button down, a web belt and driving shoes with no socks.  About twenty years ago, I was admiring a 1930’s Grand Prix Bugatti when the owner walked up in this exact outfit.  He introduced himself as Carlton Coolidge, hopped in his car and blasted down the road.  I thought if anyone looked like his name, it was this guy.

Nothing looks crisper than a bengal striped shirt with summer khakis.
