Warm Winter Boots

Posted on 22. Nov, 2014 by in Men's Fashion, Men's Accessories

I guess I must have been self-conscious about my appearance when I was a kid, because I resisted every attempt my mom made to get me to wear snow boots to school. They were fine for sledding or building snow forts, but not nearly cool enough to be seen in under normal circumstances. I’ve just started to wise up and also discover acceptable-looking foul weather footwear. For the longest time, it made more sense to me to ruin expensive shoes trudging through salty sludge than bothering to wear warm, waterproof boots, one good pair of which would probably last me the rest of my life. It’s been very nice in Colorado this fall, in the seventies and eighties and sunny. Until yesterday, when the mercury dropped like a stone. The high today is eight and there are a few inches of snow on the ground. Rather than reach for some flimsy soft driving shoe or chukka boot, I grabbed my trusty Red Wing Gore-Tex suede field boots. They’re a nice whiskey color and lightly insulated. I can stand in puddles till my heart’s content. There are a lot of nicely-made, well-styled men’s winter boots around these days. With people dressing more casually as they do, you can probably just leave them on when you get to the office. Here are a few that I’m aware of and like:
