Summer Wines

Van DuzerWith warm weather and outdoor dining, I don’t like big reds as much as I do in the cooler months.  My wife and I don’t drink much white wine, so we often turn to Pinot Noir at this time of year.  Here is a nice list I ran across that includes several countries of origin and price ranges: Food and Wine Pinots

I’ve gotten it in my head that some inexpensive wines, like Tuscan sangiovese blends, are nice and easy to drink, but cheap Pinots can be pretty bad.  I may be off base, but I keep it over twenty and start to really like some of them at around $3o, not expensive, but you don’t want to drink one glass and toss the rest, either.  My favorite in this range is from the Willamette Valley in Oregon.  The winery is Van Duzer and the wine is their Estate Pinot Noir.  It sells for between $25 and $35 depending on the vintage.  This is a really nice wine for the money.  Have a fun summer!
